Together we are... Native at Heart
We share the birth, growth and evolution of our brand. We are a team, partners and travelling companions, both inside and outside of Nativa de Corazón.
I AM ROSY!
I'm passionate about fashion design. I particularly enjoy creating unique pieces that make anyone who wears them feel proud to wear a garment steeped in Mexican design and tradition.
I am also a lover of Mexican textiles, woven by the hands of the bearers of our tradition, who keep it alive and enrich it with their works of art, captured on the loom. With my designs, made with these textiles, I seek to honor and promote the magnificent work of Mexican loom artisans.
One of my main goals is to do my part to promote a greater culture of slow fashion, creating garments that are more environmentally friendly without sacrificing design and originality.
I love surrounding myself with nature; it's my greatest source of inspiration. It gives me peace and tranquility of mind.
I enjoy promoting all the wonders that can be found, experienced, and lived throughout the Baja Peninsula, from its vineyards, deserts, and idyllic beaches to its magnificent cuisine and people.
I AM ADRIAN!
A communicator by profession, during my professional career, I have developed in the areas of public relations and strategic communication.
I am passionate about photography, I am convinced of the power that an image has to transmit emotions and sensations.
I firmly believe in the importance of proper written communication, not only to correctly transmit emotions and experiences, but also to structure ideas and thoughts.
I love exploring nature, absorbing the calm it offers us, always respecting our environment. I love living the experience of a "road trip" throughout the peninsula, from its northern tip, in Baja California, to the paradisiacal sea of Los Cabos, in Baja Sur.
Specialized in digital marketing, I really enjoy creating ideas that help boost the digital presence of brands, as well as analyzing data, which helps correct and solidify these digital strategies.
Preparing the threads
Once the threads are selected, they must be arranged one by one in the order they will appear, according to the textile design. As they are arranged, the vertical roller is also turned, while counting the number of turns, according to the amount of thread that will be needed.
This is an extremely delicate process, as it determines whether the textile will have the desired colors. For this reason, Toño's father carries out this process, as he is the most experienced person in the family.
Meanwhile, the designs
Once the threads have been selected and work on the warp has begun, the garment designs are started.
Like the textiles, the designs are unique, so we never make two garments exactly alike.
This way, while each garment is being designed, the color combination of the textile that will be used for that design is already in mind.
Preparing the loom
Once the roll is ready with the desired color combination, it must be mounted on the loom structure, which involves passing each thread through the “healds” of the reed, which is the part of the loom that keeps the threads separated and organized.
With the threads already mounted, the healds are what allow the desired section of threads to be lifted, using the pedals, and thus weave the weft with the shuttle to create the desired design and color combination.
Let the magic begin
With all the threads ready and mounted one by one on the loom, the artisan's magic begins, as they weave each textile with the utmost care for the quality of the fabric and always in accordance with Nativa de Corazón's textile design.
Everything is taking shape.
Now that the textiles are in Ensenada and the designs are ready, the final part follows, which is the sewing workshop. Here, based on the design of each garment, pattern making, cutting, and confection of each unique garment are carried out.
As in every stage of the process, here too, attention is paid to details to deliver a carefully crafted garment of the highest quality, honoring all the work behind each piece.
Likewise, it is here in the sewing workshop where Nativa's guarantee is fulfilled, which is the modification or changes required by those who acquire one of our designs.
