Why use handmade textiles?
We're all incredibly proud of Mexico's rich traditions, and without a doubt, the textile tradition is, for me, one of the most beautiful.
And although I don't consider myself an expert, I do think it's important to be able to understand everything that goes into a handcrafted textile, woven on a loom.
Obviously, culturally it has great weight, since it is a living culture, which evolves and is enriched day by day, with the work and talent of all the artisans in our country .
That's why I fall in love again and again every time I see the textiles woven by Toño, the artisan who pampers us with our textile designs and weaves them for us on his pedal loom. Every time I wrap myself in one of these textiles, I feel embraced by our culture, enveloping me in our Mexico, with all its colors and textures that make us so unique and vibrant.
Whether woven on a backstrap loom or a pedal loom, I feel that these textiles elevate and enrich us and should be the future of Mexican fashion, as they not only promote our traditions and fill us with pride, but also promote a culture of responsible fashion, which we should all embrace.
