EL MAR QUE INSPIRA Y NOS VISTE

THE SEA THAT INSPIRES AND DRESSES US

As many of you know, at Nativa de Corazón we have always liked to seek inspiration in nature for the creation of new textiles, and obviously, the sea could not be the exception. Its range of colours seems infinite and its combinations cannot go wrong. Personally, I feel very attracted to the sea, so, on this occasion, I took my own experiences to capture them in the textiles that we were going to create.

And how could you not be inspired by all those color combinations that can be found in the sea; for example, those contrasting shades of coral red with turquoise, which can be found at the bottom of the sea, while you dive on the beaches of the Sea of Cortez; or the yellow with water, which can be perceived when the sun begins to set on the horizon of the Pacific coast; or the lilac tones that can be perceived, just at the moment before the sun begins to hide.

In short, the range of colours that can be perceived is immense, the challenge now is to be able to transfer them to the textile. To begin with, to be able to assemble the base of the loom, where all the warp threads are placed, combining the colours of our inspiration. Turning the loom into the waves of a turquoise sea.

Being able to see on the loom all that combination of colors that you had in your mind, is an emotion that you want to transmit, that you want to capture in a design. It is this first stage of the loom, the base that makes our textiles unique, which even if we wanted to, would be very difficult to repeat. For the same reason, the garments that come out of here are equally unique and impossible to repeat.

But the excitement doesn't end here, it's just beginning. Once the loom is ready, the second stage of the color combination comes, which is in the weft (horizontal threads that go through the warp). Here, the textile and the original combination are given a new life. Mixed tones, like those of a starfish, can begin to take shape, as happens when weaving with a yellow thread, on the aqua base, which gives us precisely a combination inspired by this species from the bottom of the sea.

And when we talk about the sea, the scenery does not stay on the surface. Anyone who has had the opportunity to dive or snorkel will have been surprised by the underwater garden that exists beneath the sea. Not for nothing is the Sea of Cortez known as the world's aquarium.

The DNA of Nativa de Corazón is, without a doubt, our textiles. That is why I am filled with emotion throughout the creation process, combining colors that remind me of a feeling, an experience that I seek to share with you through textiles and, consequently, through our garments. If I can make you feel the luxury of being able to live that feeling, of feeling the pride of wearing a garment inspired by the beauty of our country and its tradition, I will have achieved my goal and will renew my inspiration.
